Motive Movement & Mobility Assessment
The Motive Movement & Mobility Assessment is where most Motive clients begin. It is a 90-minute hands-on session that evaluates how your joints move, how well you control those ranges, and how your current limitations connect to your training and daily life.
This is not a typical gym intake. You will move during this session. We guide you through key positions and patterns so we can see how your body responds in real time—and so you begin to understand how we train.
01
The Problem
Most people who come to Motive have already tried things. They’ve trained consistently, seen someone about their pain, or simply pushed through hoping things would improve. What they haven’t had is a clear picture of what’s actually limiting them.
Without that picture, training is guesswork. You work around problems you haven’t identified, address symptoms instead of causes, and measure progress against a baseline you never established. That’s how people stay stuck.
The Motive Movement & Mobility Assessment changes that starting point.
02
The Process
In 90 minutes, we assess the joints and movement patterns most relevant to what brought you in—your primary complaint, your training goals, or both. We look at how your joints move, how much of that range you can actively control, and where the most significant gaps are.
You move through the session. Nothing is passive, and nothing is arbitrary. Every position we put you in tells us something specific about how your body is functioning and what it needs next.
By the end, we have real information to work from. So do you.
03
What You Leave With
After the assessment, you receive a thorough breakdown of what we found—what’s limited, where control is missing, and what needs to be addressed first and why. That information shapes everything that follows.
- Identification of your key movement restrictions and where they connect to your goals
- Clear training priorities based on what your assessment actually shows
- A program direction built around your body, not a template
- A measurable starting point so progress is tracked over time

What Comes Next
The Motive Movement & Mobility Assessment is the required first step for personal training at Motive. Once we know how your body moves, we can build a program that actually addresses what’s limiting you—Functional Range Conditioning, strength training, mobility work, or a combination of all three.

READY TO GET ASSESSED?
Our assessments are designed to give you a clear starting point. We evaluate how your body actually moves, identify the biggest limitations, and determine where training should begin.
If pain, mobility restrictions, or recurring injuries are part of the picture, starting with an assessment helps ensure your training is focused, efficient, and built around what your body actually needs.
Instead of guessing what exercises might help, we identify the joints and movement patterns that require attention first so your training addresses real limitations rather than chasing symptoms.
